1 mixing bowl
1 Rolling Pin
1 dry skillet or griddle
- 2 cups wholewheat flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
1. Prepare the dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
Gradually add the water while stirring with a spoon or your hands. Mix until the dough begins to come together.
If using olive oil, add it to the mixture and knead until smooth.
3. Shape the Bread
Divide the dough into smaller portions, depending on how large you want the bread.
Roll each piece into a thin, round or oval shape about 1/4 inch thick.
4. Cook the Bread
Preheat a dry skillet or griddle over medium heat.
Place the rolled-out dough onto the hot surface and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden spots appear. Alternatively, bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes.
