Esther Saves Her People (Esther 4–7)
September 6, 2025Have you ever needed hope in the darkest moment? The resurrection of Jesus is the greatest hope the world has ever known. On that first Easter morning, death was defeated, the grave was broken, and new life began for all who believe.
📖 Story Summary
In Matthew 28 and John 20, the Gospels tell us how Jesus rose from the dead. After His crucifixion, His body was laid in a sealed tomb. On the third day, Mary Magdalene and other women went to the tomb and found the stone rolled away.
An angel told them: “He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.” (Matthew 28:6, NIV). Filled with both fear and joy, they ran to tell the disciples. On the way, Jesus met them and greeted them.
Later, Jesus appeared to His disciples. In John 20, He showed them His hands and side, proving He was alive. Thomas, who had doubted, believed when he saw the risen Lord. Jesus told him: “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:29, NIV).
The resurrection turned despair into joy and fear into bold faith. It remains the foundation of our Christian hope.
The Victory Over Death
The empty tomb is proof that Jesus conquered sin and death. His resurrection guarantees eternal life for everyone who trusts in Him.
“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” — John 11:25 (NIV)
Faith That Transforms
The disciples went from fearful and hiding to courageous witnesses after seeing the risen Jesus. His resurrection power transforms our lives too, giving us boldness to live for Him.
Hope for Today and Eternity
The resurrection is not just a past event—it is a living promise. No matter what struggles we face, we have hope because Jesus lives.
Closing Encouragement
The resurrection reminds us that God’s love is stronger than death and His promises are true. Because Jesus lives, we have forgiveness, new life, and eternal hope. Let His victory fill you with faith and joy today.
