Creation of the World in Genesis Bible Story
April 7, 2025If you are going through spiritual warfare, I firmly believe you were meant to come across this message today. God brings us the wisdom we need at the right time, and I feel led by the Holy Spirit to share this with you.
Understanding Spiritual Warfare
Spiritual warfare is a normal part of a Christian’s journey. It does not mean that God has left or forsaken you. In fact, God allows spiritual warfare because it strengthens your faith and helps transform your weaknesses into strengths. There is a divine purpose behind every battle you face, and it will pass with God by your side.
Why Are You Under Attack?
The enemy attacks because you are on the right path. The devil does not waste his efforts on those who are not seeking God. Instead, he focuses on those drawing closer to Christ, strengthening their faith, and discovering their identity in Him.
1 Peter 5:8 (NIV) says: “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
Your spiritual warfare is proof that you are advancing in your faith. Stay encouraged—this battle is a sign that you are moving in the right direction.
How the Enemy Attacks
The devil’s main strategies include:
- Fear and Doubt: Whispering lies that make you question God’s presence and plan.
- Distraction: Pulling your focus away from God with worldly concerns.
- Time Jeopardy: Filling your schedule with busyness so you spend less time in prayer and worship.
- Life Disruptions: Creating circumstances that lead to stress and worry.
Ephesians 6:11 (NIV) says: “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”
The enemy is cunning. He operates through deception, hoping to steer you away from God. That is why we must be vigilant and spiritually equipped.
Biblical Steps to Overcome Spiritual Warfare
1. Take Every Thought Captive
2 Corinthians 10:5 (NIV) says: “We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
When negative thoughts of fear and doubt arise, recognize them as lies from the enemy. Do not entertain them. Instead, declare the truth of God’s Word over your mind.
2. Replace Lies with Scripture
If the enemy tells you God has abandoned you, combat it with His Word:
“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5, NIV)
Speak Scripture over your situation. God’s truth always overcomes the enemy’s lies.
3. Put on the Full Armor of God
Spiritual battles require spiritual armor. Ephesians 6:13-17 instructs us to wear the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit (the Word of God). This armor protects us and gives us victory in spiritual battles.
4. Stay in Prayer and Worship
The enemy flees when we engage in prayer and worship. James 4:7 (NIV) says: “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Stay connected to God through prayer, and declare His goodness through worship.
5. Walk in Peace and Trust
The devil’s greatest weapon is fear, but here’s the secret: he cannot actually harm you.
Isaiah 54:17 (NIV) says: “No weapon forged against you will prevail.”
The enemy can only make you fear that you will be harmed, but he has no power over your destiny. God is in control, and His plans will always prevail.
Where God is Leading You
God allows spiritual warfare to teach us to rely on Him completely. The goal is to bring you to a place of unwavering peace, where no fear or doubt can shake you.
Romans 8:28 (NIV) says: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.”
God is guiding you to a place where you trust Him fully, no matter the circumstance. You don’t need to fight battles alone—simply seek God, trust in His plan, and rest in His peace.
Final Encouragement
Spiritual warfare is part of the Christian walk, but victory is already yours in Christ. Stand firm in faith, equip yourself with the Word, and remember that God is always with you.
