Who Is Lilith In The Bible
March 15, 2025Have you ever prayed and felt like God wasn’t answering? Have you wondered if hearing from Him is only for pastors, prophets, or those with some kind of special connection? The truth is, you can hear God, and it’s easier than you think! By the end of this post ‘How to Hear Gods Voice’ you will know how to hear God.
My Journey to Hearing God
I always believed in God, but I struggled with the idea that He actually speaks to us. I thought prayer was a one-way conversation—me talking, God listening, and silence in return. I assumed we wouldn’t truly know if He existed until we died.
But everything changed when I hit a breaking point. I was suffering, desperate, and I cried out to God like never before: “Lord, come into my life. Change me. I need You.”
The difference this time? I didn’t just pray and go back to my old ways. I started reading the Bible every day. I made an effort to turn away from sin. I prayed consistently and didn’t give up. And one day, I realized something amazing—I was hearing God.
The Bible Tells Us We Can Hear God
Romans 10:9 says, “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” When I fully surrendered to Jesus, I experienced the truth of this verse firsthand. My heart changed, my mind transformed, and suddenly, I could see how God had been speaking to me all along.
Why Many People Struggle to Hear God
A lot of people expect something dramatic when God speaks—a loud, booming voice or a vision appearing before them. While God can do that, the Bible shows us that He usually speaks in a gentle way.
In 1 Kings 19:11-12, Elijah looked for God in the powerful wind, earthquake, and fire. But God wasn’t in those things. Instead, He came in a gentle whisper.
If we’re always expecting God to speak through grand, supernatural signs, we might miss His voice in the quiet moments.
How God Speaks to Us
God reveals Himself to those who truly seek Him (Jeremiah 29:13). Here are some of the main ways He speaks:
1. Through the Bible
God’s primary way of speaking is through His Word. The Bible is alive (Hebrews 4:12), and when you read it with an open heart, you will find answers, direction, and confirmation.
2. Through the Holy Spirit
Once you accept Jesus, the Holy Spirit lives in you (John 14:26). He convicts, teaches, and guides you into all truth. That small voice nudging you toward or away from something? That could be Him speaking.
3. Through Circumstances
God can use situations in our lives to get our attention. Sometimes doors open or close in ways that clearly show His direction.
4. Through Other People
God often speaks through pastors, mentors, or even a random person who says exactly what you needed to hear.
5. Through Peace
When making decisions, if you feel overwhelming peace, it may be God confirming your path (Philippians 4:7). If you feel deep unease, He may be warning you.
How to Hear Gods Voice
If you want to hear God, don’t just pray and walk away. Build a relationship with Him:
- Read the Bible daily – Even if it’s just a few verses, let His Word speak to you.
- Pray with expectation – Prayer is a two-way conversation. Pause and listen.
- Obey what you already know – If you’re ignoring God’s commands, it’s harder to hear His voice.
- Be still and quiet – Turn off distractions and make space for God to speak.
- Seek Him with all your heart – God promises that when we seek Him, we will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13).
Final Thoughts
Hearing God isn’t about being special—it’s about being willing. If you’re seeking Him, reading His Word, and listening, He will speak. You don’t have to wait for a loud voice or a vision. He is speaking right now—through His Word, His Spirit, and the world around you.
