July 9, 2024Throughout Scripture, God addresses how His people should respond when faced with wickedness or those who oppose His ways. These verses guide us in choosing righteousness, trusting God’s justice, and learning how to walk wisely and faithfully even in difficult circumstances.
Bible Verses About Responding to Wickedness
Psalm 37:1 – “Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong.”
Proverbs 6:12-14 – “A troublemaker and a villain, who goes about with a corrupt mouth, who winks maliciously with his eye, signals with his feet and motions with his fingers, who plots evil with deceit in his heart—he always stirs up conflict.”
Proverbs 28:5 – “Evildoers do not understand what is right, but those who seek the Lord understand it fully.”
Psalm 34:21 – “Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the righteous will be condemned.”
Proverbs 4:14-16 – “Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evildoers. Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn from it and go on your way. For they cannot rest until they do evil; they are robbed of sleep till they make someone stumble.”
Romans 12:19 – “Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord.”
Psalm 36:1-4 – “I have a message from God in my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: There is no fear of God before their eyes. In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin. The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful; they fail to act wisely or do good. Even on their beds they plot evil; they commit themselves to a sinful course and do not reject what is wrong.”
Proverbs 24:1-2 – “Do not envy the wicked, do not desire their company; for their hearts plot violence, and their lips talk about making trouble.”
Proverbs 21:10 – “The wicked crave evil; their neighbors get no mercy from them.”
Psalm 1:4-5 – “Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.”
