Bible Verses About The Devil
July 9, 2024Discipline is a word that often stirs up mixed emotions. For some, it brings to mind structure, self-control, and growth. For others, it can feel like correction, restriction, or even punishment. In the Bible, discipline is never meant to harm. It is a powerful tool God uses to shape us into the people He created us to be. Biblical discipline is rooted in love, wisdom, and purpose.
Scripture presents discipline not as something to fear, but as a sign of God’s love and care. It is a sign of God’s deep love and fatherly care. Hebrews 12:6 tells us:
“The Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”
This shows us that divine discipline is not about shame or condemnation. Discipline helps us grow, mature, and return to the right path. Just as a loving parent corrects a child to teach them wisdom and keep them safe, God lovingly corrects us so we can walk in righteousness and fulfill the calling He has placed on our lives.
Many people in our modern culture confuse discipline with perfectionism or punishment. The Bible paints a much more beautiful picture. Discipline involves training—learning to say “no” to what distracts us from God. Learning to say “yes” to what draws us closer to Him. It’s about consistency in prayer, faithfulness in reading the Word. Discipline is the bridge between where we are and where God wants us to be.
