Why do Christians evangelize?
September 2, 2025Why This Question Matters
The topic of the “end times” can stir up curiosity, confusion, or even fear. Some people picture chaos, while others avoid the subject altogether. But the Bible speaks about the end times not to scare us, but to give us hope and confidence that God is in control of history from beginning to end.
What the Bible Says
The Bible doesn’t give us a detailed timeline of every event, but it does reveal several key truths about the end times:
- Jesus Will Return
Jesus promised He would come again. His return will be visible and unmistakable. “This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” – Acts 1:11 - There Will Be Judgment
The Bible teaches that everyone will stand before God. Believers will be rewarded, and those who reject God will face judgment. “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ…” – 2 Corinthians 5:10 - Evil Will Be Defeated
Revelation describes a final battle where Satan and all evil will be destroyed. God will have the final victory. - God Will Create a New Heaven and New Earth
The end times are not only about endings—they are about new beginnings. God promises to renew creation, free from sin, suffering, and death. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain…” – Revelation 21:4
How Should We Respond?
The purpose of these prophecies isn’t to make us anxious but to help us live prepared and hopeful. Jesus Himself said we won’t know the exact day or hour of His return (Matthew 24:36). Instead, He calls us to:
- Stay faithful – live in obedience and love.
- Stay ready – keep our hope in Him, not in the world.
- Stay encouraged – remind ourselves that suffering and evil don’t get the last word.
A Word of Hope
For Christians, the end times aren’t the end—they are the beginning of eternity with Christ. When we read about the future, we should always return to this truth: God wins, love wins, and those who belong to Christ will share in His victory forever.
❤️ Takeaway: Don’t fear the end times. Instead, let them remind you that no matter how uncertain the world feels, God has already written the final chapter—and it ends with joy, peace, and His eternal presence.
