Why Is Forgiveness So Hard?
August 31, 2025Faith Is a Journey, Not a Destination
If you’ve ever thought, “I wish my faith was stronger,” you’re not alone. Every believer faces moments of doubt, questions, or struggles. Even the disciples—who walked with Jesus face to face—sometimes wavered. The good news is that faith isn’t something you either “have or don’t have.” It’s something that grows, step by step, as you walk with God.
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” — Hebrews 11:1
Faith is trusting God even when we don’t have all the answers. But how do we strengthen that trust day by day?
1. Stay Rooted in God’s Word
The Bible says, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing through the Word of Christ” (Romans 10:17). If you want stronger faith, start with Scripture. Reading God’s promises daily reminds us of who He is and why we can trust Him.
Practical tip: Try reading even one chapter a day, or listen to an audio Bible while commuting or doing chores.
2. Pray Honestly and Consistently
Prayer is not about saying the “right” words—it’s about talking to your Father. When you pray honestly, even about your doubts, you draw closer to Him. Ask God directly to increase your faith.
“Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, ‘I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!’” — Mark 9:24
God delights in that kind of honest prayer.
3. Surround Yourself With Other Believers
Faith grows in community. When you hear testimonies of what God has done for others, it builds your trust that He can do the same for you. Joining a Bible study, church group, or even following encouraging Christian content online can remind you that you’re not walking this journey alone.
4. Remember Past Faithfulness
Sometimes the best way to strengthen your faith is to look back. Keep a journal of prayers you’ve prayed and how God has answered. Even in small ways, those reminders help you see His hand in your life.
5. Step Out in Trust
Faith grows when it’s exercised. That might mean obeying God in something small—sharing encouragement with someone, giving generously, or choosing to trust Him in a difficult situation. The more you step out in faith, the more you’ll experience God’s faithfulness.
Final Encouragement
Stronger faith doesn’t come overnight. It grows like a muscle—through practice, patience, and persistence. Don’t be discouraged by your doubts; bring them to God. If you keep showing up in prayer, in Scripture, and in obedience, you’ll see your faith deepen in ways you never imagined.
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” — Hebrews 11:6
❤️ You’re not failing because your faith feels weak—God can take even a mustard seed of faith and move mountains (Matthew 17:20). Keep seeking Him, and your faith will grow.
